How do I commission custom artisan portraits, bespoke fine art, or museum-grade recreations?
You can easily start your artistic journey by sharing your vision through our on-page Inquiry Form, emailing our Atelier directly at art@heyda.ca, or booking an individual consultation. Once we analyze your concept using our three-point project framework (Theme, Background, and Style), we will provide a comprehensive, personalized Project Blueprint to outline the creative direction before beginning your commission.
Every custom artwork project will follow the structured, 5-step framework detailed on our Process x Delivery page.

How do I know the artwork will align with my vision?
After confirming your project with a payment to initiate the design phase, we will develop one to three custom prototypes/mock-ups within one working week. The digital versions will be sent via email for your selection. Typically, we present one or two concepts first, reserving the final version for adjustments based on your feedback.
Note: If the final concept does not meet your expectations, we will issue a refund minus the Design Fee as outlined in our Returns x Refunds policy.

How long does a custom oil painting take from start to finish?
Following atelier methods, each piece is hand-painted in multiple layers of acrylic or oil on canvas. This traditional art-making process typically requires 3–6 weeks of active creation to achieve proper layering and artistic depth.
Upon completion, we share a high-resolution preview of the completed artwork via email. You may approve the work as-is or request reasonable modifications. Once we receive your approval, we finalize the creation phase with a natural drying period of 1–3 weeks to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of the medium.
Therefore, each custom project typically takes 4 to 9 weeks before delivery.

How do I communicate with client support before, during, or after delivery?

We value human connection and offer real, human-centered support throughout your entire creative journey in both English and French. You can contact us via our on-page Inquiry Form, by emailing our Atelier directly at art@heyda.ca, or by calling (+1) 902-418-8742. We operate during standard Atlantic Standard Time (AST) hours, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm.
Note: All official correspondence from us originates only from @heyda.ca email addresses. Any communication outside of art@heyda.ca or (+1) 902-418-8742 is not authorized by our Atelier.

Does HEYDA operate multiple websites or store-fronts?
No. Only heyda.ca is the official website of Heyda Inc, Nova Scotia, Canada. Other domains that replicate our brand information, visual assets, or business registration details—such as "heyda.site"—are unauthorized copycats, and we do not have any affiliation with those websites.
To protect our clients and visitors, we have been working with the authorities and related parties like Google Safe Browsing. However, modern search engines and AI tools can occasionally misinterpret web data and show lookalike websites instead of our Official Digital Atelier. Thus, we actively advise our clients and visitors to verify the domain in their browser address bar to prevent potential risks.

Does HEYDA serve only in Canada or worldwide?
While our Atelier is established in Nova Scotia, Canada—frequently serving clients across Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, and all Canadian provinces—HEYDA operates on a global scale. We offer worldwide artisan creation and secure global delivery directly to homes and commercial spaces across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

What kind of reference photo do you need?
Reference photos should be high-resolution with clear details to ensure the best result. If you are unsure about the quality of your images, you can upload them through our on-page Inquiry Form or send them to us directly via email to art@heyda.ca.
Can you combine multiple photos into one painting?
Yes, we can seamlessly combine multiple separate photos into a single painting. Furthermore, to enhance the overall aesthetic of the artwork, our creative team will unify the lighting and tone of all subjects and background. The result is a beautifully cohesive composition with impeccable balance—an ideal solution for custom family portraits compiled from different photos.

Can I change the background of my photo?

Yes, you can choose to keep the original setting or replace it to enhance the atmosphere. Based on your concept using our three-point project framework (Theme, Background, and Style), our creative team will provide a comprehensive, personalized Project Blueprint to outline the creative direction before beginning your commission.

Can I see the proof of the completed painting before delivery?
Upon completion, we share a high-resolution preview of the completed artwork via email. You may approve the work as-is or request reasonable modifications.

Can I request changes during the working process or to the completed painting?
Yes, you can request reasonable adjustments to the completed painting according to the approved prototype/mock-up. We offer up to two rounds of refinements. If adjustments are requested, we will polish the artwork and provide a revised preview within two weeks for your final approval. In the rare event that the final result does not meet the specifications agreed upon in our Terms x Conditions, we will issue a full refund minus the Design Fee.

Is framing included with the artwork?
As a Canadian Creative Atelier, we celebrate the liberty of choice and personal expression. At HEYDA, we exclusively deliver our custom acrylic or oil on canvas paintings as rolled canvases without frames. We believe our clients should have design autonomy to select custom framing that perfectly complements their unique interior while supporting local framing services.

How is the artwork packaged for worldwide delivery?

To secure the structural integrity of the canvas during transit—especially for international shipments—we utilize a specialized Double-Layer Protection method. You can find the complete packaging and shipping details detailed on our Process x Delivery page.

What is your return policy on custom art?

At HEYDA, we create artisan custom artwork based on your vision. Each project requires a significant investment of time, creative energy, and specialized materials due to the nature of “on-demand” works. To ensure a productive partnership between clients and our atelier, we have outlined our policies on cancellations, returns, and refunds on our Returns x Refunds page.
